Abstract: Blended or hybrid learning has become a frequent practice in higher education. In this article our primary research interest was to find out how students perceived eLearning activities in blended learning courses based on the person-centered paradigm. Through analyzing the content of a series of semi-structured interviews we found out that students appreciated eLearning activities that distinctly fitted in with face-to-face activities. Furthermore, they fa-vored the use of asynchronous media like the forum or online reaction sheets for eLearning thus complementing the highly synchronous “medium” in face-to face phases. The results of the study are discussed in light of the media synchronicity theory and, above all, as a practical resource for educators.
