Abstract: HIV/AIDS education is essential in combating the global pandemic. Individuals ages 20 to 24 are most at risk for contracting HIV. A technology focused undergraduate course on HIV/AIDS in the United States, and globally was created and is offered in a conventional, face-to-face format as well as online. Students utilize Moodle, an integrated learning platform, as well is the Internet, online publications, websites, Turnitin.com and email. YouTube.com videos are a required part of the international presentations to demonstrate culturally relevant public service announcements (PSAs) from presented countries. Students are required to create their own PSAs relevant to a U.S. issue, which they upload to YouTube. This course utilizes technology to integrate students’ strengths and interests to create researchers, HIV/AIDS educators, and socially and politically interested advocates of HIV/AIDS education, prevention and treatment.
