Abstract: This paper reports the findings of a major initiative to build a rich digital learning culture within a University. It describes what students in a College of Business have to say about the implementation of a new LMS and efforts to replace traditional printed study materials with digital content. The case study begins when the University began to replace WebCT with Moodle as part of a major digitalization project. Key findings of institutional surveys are reported over the first two years of the project, including results of a pilot initiative that sought to promote the use of digital learning resources. Taken as whole insights from students are largely positive and they suggest that the ‘digital university’ is rapidly becoming the new normal of higher education. The experience also shows that the move to digital needs systematic evaluation, ongoing professional development and must be part of a wider strategy to integrate learning technology throughout institutional culture.
