Abstract: Technology has facilitated the retrieval and integration of information into our lives and the learning environment. The statistics supporting this are somewhat startling. To prepare our students for the future we need to insure their proficiency in critical inquiry, the basic competencies. We need to begin the introduction of these competencies at the initial stage of higher education to build a solid foundation for future courses as well as encourage our students as lifelong learners.
