Abstract: As Internet access continues to grow in the region’s educational institutions, it is important to study faculty adoption of the Internet for instructional purposes including teaching and research. The purpose of this study will be to identify faculty use of the internet for academic purposes. The results of the study will add to the growing body of literature focused on Nigerian and Sub Saharan Africa faculty members’ adoption of internet technologies and innovations in general. Researchers can use this information to begin research on factors that affect adoption of the Internet for academic purposes.
