Abstract: Technology and educational media is transforming the teaching and learning within university classrooms. This workshop offers strategies for adapting and enhancing course curricula and program design through the utilization of educational multimedia resources. Through effective assessment, a constructivist program design, faculty training, and comprehensive evaluation, ed-media can meet the needs of the Millennial Generation of students.

Objectives

Workshop Objectives: Participants will gain understanding in: 1. Developing ed-media readiness assessment and evaluation 2. Adapting course curriculum to utilize the unique advantages of educational multi/hyper media. 3. Designing educational programs and initiatives that harness the Cooperative/Collaborative Learning opportunities afforded by ed-media 4. ED-Media: Transforming the Landscape of Educational Leadership Preparation Ed-media readiness assessment and evaluation -Determining readiness of organization, students, faculty, and economical/technological resources prior to implementation Curriculum Design and Adaptation -Adapting course curriculum to utilize the unique advantages of educational multi/hyper media. -Designing educational programs and initiatives that harness the Cooperative/Collaborative Learning opportunities afforded by Ed-media Instructor Training and Support -Equipping faculty and administration with the knowledge and understanding of the tools and resources essential in program design and enhancement. Prerequisites

Target audience will be K-12 educational leaders and higher education faculty and administration. The ideal audience will be representatives from institutions looking to utilize ed-media to enhance teaching and learning. In addition, participants will learn from "our mistakes" in transforming traditional learning environments towards collaborative web -based settings.

Qualifications

The author is a Doctoral Candidate and Instructor at a Research 1 University's Department of Educational Administration and Policy. Matthew has helped direct and guide our departmental shift from face-to-face classes to blended/hybrid and online learning environments. He has designed course curriculum and taught course content based on the State and NCATE standards. He has worked extensively with districts and school leaders throughout the state in introducing educational multi-and hypermedia to enhance the teaching and learning within their schools.
