Abstract: In this paper, we propose a detection method of learners’ focusing targets based on their activities in collaborative learning. Collaborative learning environment consists of learners and their learning possessions. Focusing targets of learners are objects either in their own private spaces or in the private spaces of other learners. Learners can make several actions throughout the learning such as making utterance, writing down their answers/ideas to their own memo-sheets and observing other learners. Based on these actions, learners change their focusing targets. In this paper, the pattern of changing focusing target of learners is analyzed. Then, the method of calculating focusing degrees of learners is addressed. Based on focusing degrees, the focusing targets of learners are determined. Additionally, the example of collaborative learning interface which changes view based on focusing degrees is also shown.
