Abstract: The present contribution presents the design and development of the educational multimedia presentation for the teaching of Religious Education in Secondary Schools in Greece. The development of the software is based on modern educational principles and suggests teaching with the advantages of using multimedia. To this end certain pedagogical principles, such as visualization, teaching in small groups, initiative, interaction and modification of the original teaching material, are implemented into this multimedia presentation. Its design and development was also based on modern learning theories such as constructivism, dual coding theory and cognitive load theory, which take in consideration the imprint of the multiple representations in the cognitive system of the student. The purpose of this multimedia presentation is to make the teaching of the subject of Religion more interesting to secondary school students. A survey was conducted, the results of which will be published shortly.
