Description

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework for designing learning environments that recognize and support learner variability, giving all students an equal opportunity to learn. It can be used to support instructors in clarifying instructional goals and providing flexible means of learner engagement, representation, and action and expression.

Our mission in the UDL SIG is to provide a platform to SITE members to acquaint with UDL, advance research in implementation of UDL at various levels of the education system, and foster dialogue and collaboration between practitioners, researchers and academicians to develop activities and projects on UDL. To elaborate, the SIG members will:

Share extant research, best practices, exemplars, resources, materials, links, etc for ensuring inclusion of all learners, Discuss application of UDL in different educational settings and contexts, such as in low resource classrooms, online courses, etc, Further the conversation on harnessing the power of digital media to design flexible learning environments, Discuss UDL implementation related issues, challenges and plausible solutions, and Plan and do research, activities and projects on UDL.
