Information Literacy Education, Library & Media Science
Description
The Information Literacy Education Special Interest Group (SIG) is a new SIG formed as part of a partnership between SITE and the Education and Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
Information Literacy is the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information. In today’s society with the amount of information available it is important for students, especially teacher education students, to develop these skills.
We encourage librarians and other teachers in both K-12 and higher education to join our SIG and share ideas on how information literacy is being used in your institutions with your students.
