Invitation to SIG meeting & Clarification on Associate Chair Election
I wanted to personally invite you to our SIG meeting and clarify the election process for Associate Chair. On Feb. 23, an electronic ballot link was sent to all 401 SIG members. So far less than 30 votes have come in, and they are generally evenly distributed among the 7 nominees.
At the SIG meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd, 12:30-1:45 PM in Amazon M, we will facilitate a paper ballot voting for those members in attendance that did not vote electronically (based on the honor system).
First on the election agenda will be a list of the candidates in alphabetical order. Each candidate will be invited to introduce himself/herself; the nomination paragraphs will be projected on the screen at the same time the candidate is speaking. After each nominee has spoken we’ll have a paper ballot vote, tally the votes & add the electronic ones. In the event there is not a convincing lead by the top candidate, a runoff election may be necessary. I will ask for input from the “floor” regarding how to conduct a runoff election if needed.
Agenda:
-
