SITE 2020 CT SIG - Proposals Due January 24 and Other Business
Good afternoon. I hope this email finds you well. As I am sure you know, the final deadline for the second round of proposals for SITE 2020 is due this Friday, January 24. Please consider submitting to the CT conference strand. We would love to have you share your work. During our SIG meeting in April, we will be electing a new co-chair. Gerald's 2 year term is up and he will stepping down. Please consider offering this service. Jongpil is a great co-chair.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide the literature review, framework, a= nd format for an upcoming study wherein we will explore the perspectives, b= eliefs, and strategies of international students/parents who have been usin= g educational technology or digital tools for community building, strengthe= ning parent-teacher partnership and to be involved in their children=92s ed= ucation in U.S. Southwest borderlands. The framework for this literature re= view and future study is Epstien=92s six types of parental involvement- par= enting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision making, and= collaborating with the community. The participants for the study are inter= national students/parents who have their children attending a K-12 school i= n the Southwest borderlands. The findings from the study will focus on tech= nology-based strategies to 1) support parents with building parental commun= ity and engaging with schools and classrooms, and 2) support schools and te= achers to engage international students/parents. The research study will be= completed by the time of the conference and the findings will be shared at= that time.
