Biography
Dr. Nandita Gurjar is an Assistant Professor of Elementary and Early Childhood Education in the College of Education at Rhode Island College, Providence, Rhode Island. Her research foci include cultural inclusivity and feminist pedagogy in online learning; networked learning in informal virtual spaces, and innovative practices that leverage information and communication technologies to develop New Literacies. Equity and social justice is at the center of her research and practice. She is also interested in comparative international research related to social practices enabled by emerging technologies, New Literacies, and digital learning in international contexts in K-20. In early childhood education, Nandita is interested in innovative practices that builds children's creativity, computational thinking, and early literacy skills through interdisciplinary approaches, such as game-based (play based learning), and STEAM making experiences.
