Biography

Chris Andrews is a doctoral candidate in the Learning Sciences program at Indiana University working with Dr. Daniel Hickey. His research interests include social annotation, teacher and student assessment practices, assessment literacy, participatory approaches to teaching and learning in technology-rich environments, and teacher education and professional development. During his studies, he taught an undergraduate learning theory course for pre-service teachers. Prior to doctoral studies, he was a high school teacher for 7 years, during which time he served as a department chair and peer-leader, and was voted Teacher of the Year by his colleagues. He earned a master’s degree in Teacher Education from Brigham Young University, publishing a thesis exploring teachers’ definitions, reasons, and beliefs surrounding student self-assessment.
