While we found clear evidence that one to one personalised communication supported students studying online and contributed to reduced attrition, I am keen to hear about any strategies that you might have found effective in reducing attrition.
Please take the opportunity to share some ideas or ask any questions you might have.
Thank you for your presentation! It was easy to listen to and the video was top notch!
The results you got on how poorly committed students withdrew or dropped out are in line with what we got in our study, where we explored the relationship between peer teacher interaction and students’ experiences of components of integration in the study programme. Our study could be read via the link under
Especially your results on how the tutor support was a factor for students to remain enrolled is interesting. In these matters you can’t emphasize enough the importance of student guidance, counselling and individual help.
thank you for your generous comments. I will read your publication with interest.
I agree, there was little we could do with the students who were poorly motivated, but we believe we influenced the behaviours of students who might otherwise have withdrawn.
We were very interested in how students responded to the use of the often forgotten telephone as a means of communication.
I am so pleased that your results align with our findings - if we can gather enough evidence we might actually make a difference.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the conference and thank you for taking the time to comment.
