Abstract: Virtual reality head mounted displays (VR HMD) have become a prominent focal point in AR/VR/XR research, training, and development. This article will review the most commonly purchased headsets and assess the implications for adoption by providing a brief snapshot of logistical issues, budget, access, experience curve, and self-efficacy of using VR in education. Through these challenges the author will identify the problems that educational leaders will need to address if they want to adopt VR HMDs in their districts.
