Abstract: This research utilized a qualitative thematic analysis to investigate the literacy practices of elementary students who created video game reviews. 33 children at a multi-age school participated in this project during a three-week educational unit on video games. During the unit, children played, analyzed, and reviewed video games. Data analysis reveals that children engaged in literacy practices while playing games as well as creating their video game reviews.
