Educational Robotics-in-a-Box (ERiaB) Implemented via an Online Learning Environment
Abstract: The current paper paper presents and explains the Educational Robotics in-a-box (ERiaB) Methodology, implemented in an Educational Robotics and Programming course. The paper critically evaluates the implementation of the ERiaB methodology employed within an online learning environment in order to address the challenges posed by the pandemic. The population of the study consisted of 11 3rd year pre-service teachers of the Department of Education at private university in the European region. A case study methodology was employed collecting the quantitative and qualitative data numerous data collection instruments. The results of the study revealed the potential of the ERiaB methodology in courses that combine theory and practice and require lab work. It identified various factors that influence its implementation as well as highlighted the challenges faced by the students in order to meet the needs of the course via the new online learning environment and the application of the ERiaB methodology.
