Abstract: This study aimed to examine student English learning experience by designing an English learning platform integrating virtual reality and a robot using artificial intelligence. Two students participated in the study and were interviewed after learning. Student self-reported learning outcome was used as well after each module to understand the student experience. Results revealed that robot-assisted language learning (RALL) combining artificial intelligence and virtual reality in this study attracted and maintained student attention and provided interaction and more personalized instruction. The implication of the study is that RALL has its potential and the platform can be expanded and further developed for deeper personalized learning.
