Abstract: This paper focuses on the theory and practice of teaching a multicultural education for K-12 preservice teachers in an online environment. Focus is on strategies in creating an inclusive, social justice focused online learning space to allow students to feel empowered and motivated to explore sensitive topics that are part of an effective multicultural education course. The paper highlights research and the author's personal experience to share best practices.
