Case Study: Transition to Remote Teaching During the COVID19 Pandemic
Roundtable (F2F)
ID: 60812
Abstract: During the pandemic, this study discusses how instructors were supported when they shifted their classes online. It illustrates how a variety of professional development activities helped participants establish a feeling of community while also assisting them in making the transition to online teaching. Faculty members were able to share information and offer peer support through these virtual communities. Changes in pedagogical techniques were also triggered by this online teaching experience. These preliminary conclusions, which are based on social cognition theory, are backed up by survey data and a case study.
