Abstract: The use of video recordings and reflective practices is ubiquitous in teacher education (Santagata & Guarino, 2011; Sun & van Es, 2015). However, emerging video technologies allow for new options for viewing and reflecting on teaching. Specifically, 360 video provides the opportunity to create an immersive experience by which teacher candidates can observe a lesson they have taught from all angles, seeing things they could not previously see while engaged in the instructional process. This research in progress is focused on evaluating the use of 360 video in reflective practice for preservice teachers. We will be discussing the initial results of this qualitative research project. The purpose is to examine middle-level and secondary preservice teachers' patterns of "professional noticing" (Kosko et al., 2021) and reflection when viewing their own teaching through different video mediums.
