Abstract: Besides providing coursework and professional development for prospective teachers and in-service teachers about military connected children, colleges of education also attract military-connected students in undergraduate and graduate coursework. The Military-Connected Learner Initiative at Kansas State University’s College of Education seeks to support military-connected students at all levels. In this best practice session, we will provide a brief history of the Military-Connected Learner Initiative at K-State; how we responded to the unique needs of our military-connected teacher candidates while continuing to provide professional learning about military-connected students throughout the pandemic; and our plans for the future of the initiative. It will provide examples of how we provide professional learning for our teacher candidates, develop connections among our veterans and military-connected students, and highlight resources available for other institutions. As the title suggests, hybrid and digital technologies are an important part of this initiative.
