Abstract: EDCATS Live facilitates synchronous live professional development for the College of Education preservice teachers as part of the teacher education program (TEP). A live “talk show format” features professionals from the field, community, and university as “guests” who provide a unique, informative, and interactive experience. With students teaching across the country and continents — as far as South Korea — Kansas State’s College of Education needed a way to stay connected with them and provide ongoing professional development (PD) and support. In the beginning, EDCATS Live was created as a way to streamline information to both local and distant student interns. It has become so much more. EDCATS Live serves as a weekly connection to K-State’s College of Education for student interns teaching in the field. Each episode is produced with quality, efficient, and meaningful professional development in mind. The goal is for student interns to benefit from the weekly episodes which provide take-aways, tips, and strategies that can be implemented into their classrooms and used with their students.
