Abstract: The article investigates methods for the implementation of online teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic with pre-service teachers in a teacher education college, and discusses the contribution of personal journals and collaborative learning to the students’ sense of belonging. During the pandemic, when most of the teaching and learning was conducted online, collaborative learning activities offered increased value, allowing students to share reflective journals as a mode of ongoing interaction between students and the lecturer and reducing the learning burden on students.
