Supporting Student Teachers Teaching in Online or Blended Classrooms

Abstract: The concept of remote learning became a reality for all schools across the country this year. It left many teacher candidates, teachers, students, and families feeling overwhelmed, confused, and underprepared. The following are some preliminary findings from a pilot study of preservice teachers’ needs regarding preparation to teach online, and practicing teachers' recommendations regarding effective practices to build relationships, engage students, and effectively assess students when teaching online or in a blended classroom.
