Abstract: Mobile, location-based games (mLGBs) have the potential to take learning outside of the classroom setting so that students can better imagine the past and productively talk about tangible heritage in meaningful ways. Thus, these games have been explored for their educational value. Building upon the past two decades of research, this work speaks to the importance of mLBGs in the context of cultural heritage (CH), and touches upon challenges and considerations in their use.
