Share Paper: Remote Teaching at the Start of the Pandemic of 2020: A Qualitative Case Study
Abstract: As two professors of education in a large public university, we investigated this question: What were K12 teachers experiences delivering instruction and communicating with students during the pandemic? In the spring of 2020 we collected qualitative data from our own graduate students in five different education courses and asked them to share their experiences teaching in their own K-12 classrooms in public schools in a mid-Atlantic state. We employed a framework from Community of Inquiry theory, investigating teaching and social presences. Findings involved factors promoting success and challenges.
