Abstract: Professional development is an essential component of how school leaders and educators remain current in their fields. Due to changing learning preferences and advances in technology, professional development needs to focus on educational trends that are impacting learners. The inclusion of effective professional development trainings has become increasingly more important due to the additional demands and constraints schools have faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Educators and leaders may initially experience concerns with offering professional development via virtual formats. However, the inclusion of professional development is particularly vital during times of uncertain and anxiety. Because many educators are currently unable to teach their students face-to-face and many school campuses are closed, trainings also need to be conducted through online sessions. Through these experiences, educators are able to develop creative problem-solving approaches to further guide their students learning. Therefore, this presentation will provide an overview of how to create and facilitate online professional development trainings and share ideas for how to ensure these sessions are engaging and effective.
