Abstract: This case study explores what students in a K-12 classroom learn when they participate in an activity aimed at teaching them how to attract audience to civic discussions on social media. This research responds to calls by scholars of civic education to expand notions of civic engagement and digital citizenship, which has often focus on urging students to protect their reputations in digital spaces.
