Share Paper: Utilizing Practice-Based Pedagogies to Prepare Dual-Certified Candidates to Integrate Technology

Abstract: Dual-certification programs present unique challenges in teaching preservice teacher candidates about technology integration. As a result, practice-based pedagogies have been utilized in coursework to effectively provide hands-on opportunities for future educators to learn, explore, apply, and reflect upon the use of various technologies. This paper will discuss a series of approaches for preparing dual-certified teacher candidates to integrate technologies through hands-on, application-based activities in accordance with a series of practice opportunities and how these have been implemented within a large dual-certification preparation program.
