Share Paper: Building collaborations between stakeholders: Developing micro-credentials to support technology infusion within teacher education

Abstract: Technology Integration into classrooms is an important factor in the preparation and professional development of teachers. However, a single course, may not be enough to prepare teacher candidates to infuse technology in within their instructional practices. In this paper we explore how a midwestern teacher education program is addressing this challenge by developing a micro-credentialing system to address the ISTE standards for educators. The micro-credentials are designed to engage teacher education candidates in a process that provides them opportunities to apply and model technology infusion within courses and throughout their teacher education program.
