Abstract: A key factor in the quality of online courses is how prepared the online instructors are to teach those courses. Faculty professional development varies based on the institution, their resources, and their faculty needs. At Penn State, there is a World Campus Faculty Development department that offers a robust development platform with several courses. These courses could be cohort, independent, synchronous, or asynchronous depending on the learning outcomes.
