Abstract: With the consistent increase of student enrollment in online higher education, the need to connect with and engage online learners continues to be a topic of discussion in the research. The advancement in digital technology tools has made creating connections in the online learning environment easier. Instructor-created videos provide one option for presenting information to students in a more personalized and captivating manner. The purpose of this small pilot study was to explore the use of instructor-created videos to deliver content, clarify assignment directions, and form more personal connections with students in online classes. Instructor-created videos were well-received by students and contributed to the students’ perception of their overall success.
