Abstract: The use of learning management systems (LMS), like Canvas, is on the rise with education and is a part of many public school system’s curriculum. The LMS is a software application that provides a platform to deliver and manage instructional content. These systems allow teachers to organize lessons by units or modules, create engaging activities and assessments, and share these with students. Many companies are creating a LMS like Canvas, Blackboard, and Google Classroom to compete in public the education sector. The prices of a student device have decreased and the software programs are written at a better educational standard (Murphy, 2014) and this has allowed schools to provide use of more technology in the classrooms. Now, as educators integrate a LMS into their schools, they must have proper implementation, teacher buy in, and enough support for success. To understand teachers' perspective on Canvas, teachers were given a quick survey (Appendix A) after professional development session. The survey investigated the factors that contribute to teacher engagement and usage of the educational tool, Canvas. This study will examine the attitudes of teachers towards usage and ease of the LMS.
