Welcome SITE Attendees!

I am looking forward to seeing many of you in Las Vegas as we celebrate SITE’s 30th Anniversary! It’s exciting to have a conference full of events focused on moving our scholarship and practice around technology and teacher education forward. Please take full advantage of all the opportunities offered at the SITE conference this year.

Make sure to set up your AcademicExperts profile for optimal session planning and networking. Add AcademicExperts to your mobile device home screen for easy access. Plan your schedule, search for sessions, connect with fellow attendees, participate in discussions, view social web feeds, and much more.

For those arriving early in the week, take note of the many workshops offered on Monday afternoon. The topics are highly intriguing and a great way to start your conference week. Take a look at at site.aace.org/conf/workshops/ for workshop descriptions. You can still sign up for these opportunities that promote professional development.

There are a lot of ways to get involved with SITE. We have an inspiring set of keynotes and an impressive lineup of sessions each day. Meet and network with other attendees at our “80s Themed” Welcome Party on Tuesday night from 6:30-8:30 PM. It is always a guaranteed good time! Plan to join at least one SIG (site.aace.org/sigs/.) SIGs play a extremely important role in helping attendees connect with each other around similar interests. You don’t want to miss the Poster Demonstrations on Wednesday, where you can view posters explaining over sixty projects and personally interact with colleagues who are showcasing their fine work. On Thursday from you can drop by the Innovators Playground to explore and gain hands-on experience with innovations like ‘dancing drones’, MakerBit, gamification, and more!

For thirty years, SITE attendees have been sharing and publishing their scholarship that highlights the intersection of technology and teacher education. Personally, I can’t wait to network with colleagues from over 39 countries who will be attending SITE 2019 this year. Looking forward to connecting with you in Las Vegas!
