Abstract: There has been increased interest in the possible implications of the emerging maker movement for K-12 education. This brief paper will describe a professional development experience developed to expose K-12 teachers to maker tools and technologies as well as provide them with firsthand experience working in a commercial makerspace. This work-in-progress is intended to provide insight into how K-12 teachers perceive working in a makerspace, and how this experience may affect their practice.
