Abstract: Virtual Reality (VR) is an emerging possibility for delivering educational content and experiences to students. Today VR has evolved; the technology is mainstreamed, inexpensive, and more accessible. Virtual reality creates exciting new opportunities for geospatial technology users. There are set of applications that combine these new technologies for geographic visualization. This paper reports initial findings of a study that examined applications of Google Cardboard 3D immersive Virtual reality in teaching physical geography. The results suggest that Google Cardboard RV is an effective tool in teaching concepts where visualization and interactive environment is needed.
