Abstract: In an online community of practice, 7 teachers, Jewish and Arab from rural areas in Israel participated in audio synchronous discussions about social and environmental issues The study follows the formation of the teachers' community of practice It was evaluated by qualitative method which includes interviews and documentation from the community sessions Findings show that the community of practice helps teachers to interact and to understand the other culture Even though the participants couldn't see each other during the sessions, the emotional presence was very prominent It's highly recommended that teachers should participate in more online community of practice in order to analyze more deeply the synchronous audio discussions which impact emotional presence, understand it better and know how to facilitate it
