Abstract: The manuscript provided here is a status summary of an ongoing National Science Foundation project, QuaSim. The project goal is to develop a virtual 3D instructional simulator for teaching cybersecurity concepts based in quantum cryptography. Simulation participants operate in an interactive gaming environment intended to provide context and practice integrated topics within mathematics, physics, and cybersecurity to build a conceptual understanding of the key elements of quantum cryptography. The narrative will overview three primary elements of the project including, the profile of the 3D simulation, the quantum cryptography instruction and curriculum elements, and a description of the evaluation feedback loop.
