Abstract: This paper explores the possibilities of narrative thinking, inquiry, and pedagogy as they intersect with the affordances of social media It examines the shared “commonplaces” of narrative and social media (ie, temporality, sociality, and place), and argues that narrative thinking and social media amplify the power of the other We conclude that the centrality of temporality, sociality, and place, as well as the emphasis on narrative as reality, in both narrative and social media, create powerful opportunities for new lines of inquiry and pedagogy in educational technology
