Abstract: This paper is a continuation of previously presented work of the author As academic institutes unceasingly try to improve their institutional performance (Hunt & Davis 2012), they adopt various information technology (IT) that enhance the decision making and, consequently, improve performance of the academic institutes A number of studies found a positive relationship between ITs and performance of educational institutes that improves their overall performance Cloud computing technology (CCT) is a new technological paradigm which promises to enhance institutional performance This project is conducted to study its adoption within the academic institutes of higher education This study indicated that security concerns, facilitating conditions, competitive power, and complexity significantly and positively affected the behavioral intention Relative advantage and compatibility significantly and positively affected adoption of CCT Behavioral intention was also found positive predictor of adoption Top management support and academic partner institute’s readiness were not found significant predictors of either intention or adoption of CCT The proposed model explained 664% of the variance in the intentions to adopt, while 407% of the variance in the adoption (actual use) of CCT
