Using Mobile Video Streaming (Face-Time) to evaluate student teaching: Case of an intern in the outback of the DELTA
Abstract: Budget constraints have been a reality in institutions of higher education across the USA. Hence, colleges and departments have to be creative in retaining and obtaining funds for their operations. With the advances in technology this has been an area that has potential for cost savings. In this snap-shot case study, an examination was made of the use of FaceTime technology to supplement traditional face-to-face intern supervision. The unit of analysis was one intern placed 3.78 hours away from the main campus. Results show there was savings on gas but loss on the quality of supervision expected.
