Using Peer Review Approach to Promote Online Learning in Higher Education

Abstract: In this pilot study a team of professionals from two different universities in two different states within the United States will explore and investigate peer review approach using online platform in online or distance education which might enhance student’s motivation. Initial stage of this pilot study will focus on three courses in two different state universities from east south-central region and east region of the United States using student’s engagement survey, satisfaction survey, and qualitative research. This proposed research will provide report for other faculty members in higher education who might consider using this approach in their online/distance education courses with suggested procedures and guidelines in their classrooms and this research will also display students’ perceptions of using peer review approach and their satisfaction as a foundation to seek the potential innovations in their classroom which might enhance their learning and engagement in the 21st century
