Abstract: Ohio’s Third Grade Guarantee, a state initiative designed to identify struggling readers from kindergarten through third grade, presents a new set of challenges to early childhood literacy instructors charged to make sure students are on track for reading success by the end of third grade. Innovative use of developmentally effective and mobile technologies has proved to be a vital tool in supporting identified K-3 students struggling in literacy.
