Using Cloud-based Technologies to Support TPACK among Pre-service Teachers
Abstract: This paper describes a pilot study of a cloud-based instructional intervention designed to enhance Technology Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) among pre-service teachers. Since teachers are known to teach how they are taught, pre-service teachers require models of authentic technology infusion in order to become effective digital-age teachers. In this article, the author describes an instructional intervention based on both cloud-computing and project based learning. An additional purpose of the intervention was to demonstrate some of the affordances of cloud-based technologies to pre-service teachers. As a result of this instructional model, pre-service teachers report enhanced satisfaction and confidence with educational technology. Furthermore pre-service teachers report enhancements in confidence, creativity and problem solving. Developing changes in pre-service teachers’ Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) are discussed
