Abstract: Students with disabilities are required to participate in high stakes testing under the Common Core Standards. These standards lend themselves to thematic instruction to teach literacy and mathematics. Native American cultural competence can be addressed while meeting these standards within an inclusive setting. The iPad can be used as a tool to help the lesson meet standards under Universal Design for Learning standards.
