Abstract: Educators are bombarded and overwhelmed with the choice and selection of the available educational apps for handheld tablets and devices. It is essential that educators have an effective tool to measure the quality of apps they wish to use within the classroom to enhance instruction and at the same time improve the knowledge and skills of all their students. This presentation will discuss an innovative tool to evaluate the quality of educational apps based on the principles of universal design for learning. The development and uses of the tool will be discussed. Field-testing results will be presented.
