Abstract: This paper discusses 3D printing technology and its implications to teaching and learning science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. 3D printing is a process of creating a three-dimensional solid object from a digital model. A resurgence of the constructivist approach to teaching and learning has created a demand for a solution that requires little knowledge of manufacturing processes, aids visualization through tangible representation, and speeds prototyping. The application of learned knowledge to problem solving through the creation of tangible objects deepens learning experiences. 3D printing is a powerful tool to empower learners through object creation.
