Abstract: This study investigated the use of technology in P-6 classrooms as perceived by preservice teachers during field experiences in content methods courses. Preservice teachers (n = 43) answered survey questions regarding effective and ineffective technology use, factors encouraging or discouraging use of technology, and perceptions of technology use in P-6 classrooms. Responses indicated interactive white boards, computers, and iPads were the most widely used classroom technology. Lack of perceived educational value and underutilization were identified as ineffective uses of technology.
